Innovation is rewarded

Warning The law of 27 December 2019, n. 160 of 2019 - containing the "State budget for the 2020 financial year and the multi-year budget for the three-year period 2020-2022" - redefined the discipline of tax incentives connected to the "National Business Plan 4.0" and, in particular, of those concerning investments in capital goods, in research and development activities, technological innovation and other innovative activities and in training 4.0. As part of this intervention, it has been envisaged that companies that make use of these disciplines make a communication to the Ministry of Economic Development. This communication, it should be noted, is exclusively functional to the acquisition by the Ministry of Economic Development of the information necessary to evaluate the trend, diffusion and effectiveness of the subsidy measures. Therefore, it does not constitute a preventive condition for access to the benefits and neither, in the event of failure to send it, a cause for denial of the right to the due concessions. Consistent with the aforementioned purposes, it should be noted that the communication will be sent on a final balance, i.e. after the closure of the tax period in which the investments eligible for the subsidized regulations were made. The model, content, methods and deadlines for sending the aforementioned communication will be established with a specific directorial decree soon to be issued.
